Title:
When the Shelby Hawaiians, a small Hawaiian orchestra composed of members of the 442nd Infantry, visited Walter Reed Hospital
under the sponsorship of Earl Finch, Mr. Finch also arranged this meeting of two members of the 100th Battalion, both seriously
wounded in the fighting in Italy. On the left, Pfc. Hoshinoa Omiya, was blinded when a mine blew up in his face. Pvt. Kenneth
Otagaki, who recently received the Combat Infantryman Badge, lost a leg, several fingers, and the sight of one eye. With them
is one of the members of the Shelby Hawaiians who helped to entertain the wards with his version of a Hawaiian Hula. --
