Title:
Cheese cloth may not keep out the rain but it does temper the climate according to Masao Oku, shown here inside of his carnation
and chrysanthemum out-door flower beds. The cheese cloth breaks the sun's violent rays during the heat of the day, and at
the same time raises the temperature several degrees during the colder part of the morning and evening. Masao and Leonard
Oku, brothers, voluntarily evacuated to Denver. They leased their nursery and upon returning early this year found themselves
ready to get into production without delay. They are producers of many blooms with carnations as their specialty, without
difficulty. With Masao are his wife, Alice, his son David, and his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Unosuke Oku. Their address
is Wright and Baily Avenues, Mountain View, California. --
