Title:
A typical scene in the asparagus canning plant operated at the Illinois Mushroom Company at Naperville, Illinois. The company
employs approximately 60 Japanese Americans. Most of the asparagus cutting done in the fields is done by the older Japanese,
or Issei. In the cannery, the bulk of the workers are Caucasian girls and women from the town of Naperville, but as is shown
in this picture, some of the younger Japanese Americans and a few older ones are also employed in the cannery. --
