Title:
Building a Pontoon Bridge. The first section is assembled on the shore and carried quickly into the water, where it is attached
to the supporting cable on which it slides further mid-stream as other sections are added. This unit, under the direction
of Captain Nakada, 232nd engineers, can assemble a pontoon bridge in a matter of minutes. The 442nd combat team at Camp Shelby
is composed entirely of Americans of Japanese descent who volunteered for services in the armed forces. This unit of approximately
8000 men is undergoing intensive training in all branches of combat duty, and they are looking forward with eagerness to actual
services at the front. --
